In 1995, we started as a clothing-cum-tattoo shop in a rusty freight container under a girder bridge somewhere in Okayama city.It was a happy place with a lot of vagrants, musicians, would-be artists, bikers and animals, but we didn’t have any money and couldn’t even find a cool pair of jeans we’d love to wear.“We can’t find any cool jeans. OK, then why don’t we make a pair?” That was the ridiculous proposal Mr. Kanazawa, the president of our company had, and that was the beginning of our original brand, Kamikaze Attack.We started making jeans using Okayama denim, put some ads in national magazines and started distributing the jeans here and there all over Japan.

In 2006, someone said, “Wouldn’t it be cool to establish our own company?” We all rashly agreed with it and set up our own company, Banzai Teikoku Company Limited.

In 2011, we moved from Okayama city to Kojima, in Kurashiki city, which is the Mecca of jeans, and restarted as a workshop.

In 2012, we released a collaboration with Naked & Famous Denim from Montreal, and started selling them in Canada and also at Barneys New York in the U.S.

In 2013, we released a collaboration with Kinniku Man, which is one of the most popular anime characters in Japan, well, in the world.

In 2014, we started selling Kamikaze Attack products in Asian countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and some others.

We create KAMIKAZE ATTACK pleasantly today too.

Discounts for multiple orders from our shop (when items are located in the same country) and will combine shipping whenever possible. Please note (see below for additional information), bulky items or a combination of edible and non-food items might not allow for shipping discounts due to the rules of each shipping company.

Buyer is responsible for any applicable charges for purchasing items internationally. The item will be labeled correctly on the customs form (not as gift), and a reasonable value will be put on the form as well.

Any damage to the shipping box or plastic wrapping of items is not the responsibility of the seller while being transported. Items are shipped exactly as described in a sturdy container. 

**Spring 2023 INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING UPDATE**

WHENEVER POSSIBLE, shipper will used tracked airmail for packages. Certain companies refuse to ship airmail to certain destinations (see link below), and surface shipping is the only option.

Non-food/drink items: 

Yamato Transport will typically be used for shipping for non-food items that have a relatively small volume and weight. 

Their prices have gone up substantially for international shipments in April, 2023, but they are still the better option when shipping is based on the volume of the package (length + width + height). 

The cheapest option for shipping with a combined volume of 60cm or less and a weight of under 4.4 lbs (2 kg) is approximately $30US (dependent on current exchange rate). 

In most cases with airmail shipping, packages arrive at their destination approximately 5-7 days after acceptance at the Yamato office. Delays on either side of customs could change this time, and is not the responsibility of the seller. Every effort to get the package to you as quickly as possible is taken. 

Food/drink items and Large Volume/Low Weight items: 

Japan Post is the only method that accepts any food or beverage items for international shipping. Their costs are higher due to the privatization of the company, and are based on the weight of the item. The cheapest cost for a box weighing less than 2.2 lbs (1kg) is approximately $35US (dependent on current exchange rate). 

Large packages (based on volume) that are relatively low weight might also be sent with this method as it is also lower cost with a similar service standard. 

In most cases with airmail shipping, packages arrive at their destination approximately 5-7 days after acceptance at the Japan Post office. For larger packages, a pick-up company (Sagawa) is used that delays the acceptance of the package by 1-2 days until the paperwork is inspected and scanned into the system. Delays on either side of customs could change this time, and is not the responsibility of the seller. Every effort to get the package to you as quickly as possible is taken.

Currently Japan Post refuses air or surface parcel mail to certain destinations (please check these restrictions at https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/overview_en.html). Please be aware that this could increase shipping time dramatically, and the seller is not responsible for these restrictions nor delays in the arrival of any package.
