USAAF Star Sporstwear A-2 Flight Jacket by Eastman Leather Clo. Size 42 / Large
This is a beautifully decorated USAAF A-2 flight jacket made by Eastman Leather Clothing Company of Scotland (ELC). An exact replica of a Star Sporstwear Contract No. W535ac-28557-- the only contract awarded to the manufacturer for A-2 flight jackets, in 1942.
The shell is made of a sturdy seal brown horsehide leather and has a mid- brown cotton liner. The knit waistband and cuffs come in dark brown. The collar does not sport a stand which was typical of earlier A-2 jacket models during the 1930s. All the manufacturing details faithfully represent the Star Sportswear trimmer and fitter design, compared to the boxier designs of the Aero or Werber brands.
The jacket was acquired in 2022 and has not been worn at all. It does not include an "aged" look; thus, the leather is in superb condition.
The jacket is decorated with the theme of the "Witchcraft," a B-24 Liberator that served in the 8th Air Force during WWII. Serial number 42-52534, Q2-M was flown by the 790th Bomb Squadron, 467th Bomb Group, and is famous for completing the most missions of any Second Air Division aircraft
- USAAF roundel decal (slightly peeled)
- USAAF aviator leather nametag
- 467th Bomb Group leather painted patch
- 790th Bomb Squadron leather painted patch
- Bomb Group and Bomb Squadron numbers stenciled on the liner
- B-24 Witchcraft "nose art" painted design on the back of the jacket, including bomb-mission markings
- Manufacturer's inspection stamps and tag on the liner
The jacket comes in a comfortable size 42/L with the following dimensions:
Armpit Width: 22 in.
Sleeve Length (end of shoulder to end of cuff): 25.5 in.
Back Length: 25.5 in.
Shoulder Width: 18 in.
This unique A-2 jacket has never been worn since being acquired and professionally decorated. It has been kept in a dry, cool storage, and has had regular applications of leather conditioning solution to maintain the leather fresh and subtle. It includes it's ELC manufacturer tags and papers. A superb collector’s item ready for display or wear. Please write if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them before you commit.
These jackets are extremely expensive and difficult to find outside of the U.K. I am asking a fixed price considering its great, new condition. However, a reasonable offer will be considered.

You will not be disappointed with this beautiful piece of aviation garment.
