Details
18th Amendment was high-end Australian designer jeans created by the award-winning creative director and denim importer Rebecca Dawson and owner and founder, Rachel Rose, in 2006.
The label takes its name from the "18th amendment" of the United States Constitution, reflecting the times during prohibition and the roaring 20s and 30s. The jeans are named after such Hollywood stars like Lauren Bacall, Joan Crawford, Gina Lollobrigida, including Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich and Katharine Hepburn. The high-rise jeans are recognizable with their art deco motif stitched along the pockets, inspired by the 1930's Rolls-Royce, "Flying Lady".
The brand collapsed during the economic downturn of 2008/09.
