Apple Bottom is an American fashion brand for women launched in 2003 by rap artist Nelly, Yomi Martin (Nelly's cousin), Nick Loftis, and Ian Kelly. The brand is owned by Icer Brands of New York.
The brand was initially a denim label but later expanded to include other women's and girls' clothing, perfume, and accessories. It was one of the most talked about designer jeans labels in the mid-2000s.
The brand was launched with a model search televised on VH1. The label's motto, in Nelly's words, was "women should not try to fit the clothes, the clothes should fit the women."
With model and DJ Sassy Pandez as its first brand ambassador, Apple Bottoms quickly became popular in the rap/hip-hop community, and is referenced in various rap songs, including Twista's "Overnight Celebrity", MC Jin's "36-24-36", DaCav5's "Tetris", Flo Rida's "Low", and Eminem's "Shake That". Well-known celebrities such as Fergie, Ashanti, and Melyssa Ford have also been photographed in the jeans, and Oprah Winfrey included the brand on her favorite things list in 2004.
In 2008, Nelly hosted a model search for Apple Bottoms jeans on a VH1 reality show called The Apple Bottom Girl, which generated further interest in his brand.
In 2010, Apple Bottom jeans launched a fall/winter campaign featuring Nelly.
The brand started to fade away, however, Nelly announced its relaunch on March 7, 2020, on Instagram.
The brand's official website is applebottoms.com and is available for purchase through drjays.com.
